Suzie's Royal Tea was held Sunday, April 29th with Shawn Stratton (pictured with his guitar gift from Batchelder's Piano) was honored as the Artist of the Year. This English High Tea event featured hosts and hostesses who brought their own china, crystal, flatware, linens and decor' into the art center to create the most beautiful tables ever!! Over 115 attended this event that benefits the people with disabilibites that utilize the programs of Suzie Cappa Art Center (SCAC).
Black Hills Works Foundation created this annual event to support the SCAC after it was established in 2001 in memory of Suzie Cappa, a person who received services until her passing and who was a wonderful artist. This year's proceeds will be used to support the move of SCAC to a lovely new downtown location yet this year.
It was a day Shawn and his family will never forget. Layne Putnam and Suri entertained the high tea attendees while everyone enjoyed high tea fare by Canyon Lake Catering. "Elvis" even sent a message to Shawn congratulating him well and thanking him......thanking him very much! Sandye Kading (picutred) was our Event Chair and did a lovely job introducing all the hostesses and hosts, honoring Shawn by being his hostess and giving out all the wonderful raffle prizes.
If you would like to support this event in 2013 by becoming a table hostess or sponsor, contact Brian Munsell at 718-6207 or email him at bmunsell@bhws.com. Half of each ticket went directly to benefit the SCAC.
